The last time I took pictures of Lela, sweet baby had just arrived. She could barely open her eyes. Almost a year later, she was bursting with personality. It's crazy how time flies. The day has finally come for this blog post. This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever done. Amber and I have been best friends since high school. We even managed to be college roommates and still remain BFs. We've been by each other's side through all the boy/job/life troubles and also through all the boy/job/life celebrations.
When Amber told me that her and John were trying to get pregnant, I told her I was there for her whenever/however she wanted. My heart practically burst when she told me she wanted me to be there from the very first moment of telling John, to the day Finley was born... And all the amazing moments in between.
I couldn't be more proud to show off to the world... Finley Claire, my perfect Goddaughter. I pray you enjoy Finley's journey into her mommy and daddy's arms as much as I enjoyed being on the frontline to capture this incredible moment on one of the strongest and most miraculous days of my best friend's life.

FINALLY - I can share this amazing wedding at the Memphis Country Club.
When I showed up to Michael and Laura's rehearsal dinner (I've posted a few of the images below the video), I KNEW the wedding was bound to be spectacular.
Their wedding was almost as amazing as they are. After a night of tears, laughs, and wine at Itta Bena... (Where I learned a lot of interesting facts about the bride and the groom thanks to the groomsmen speeches), I showed up to the Memphis Country Club and was instantly overwhelmed by the explosions of flowers, the champagne ice sculpture, the stunning ballroom. The vendors involved really knew what they were doing.
Mr. and Mrs. Black have an amazing group of people that surround them. They made the day so incredibly fun, and I couldn't have been more honored to have been on the frontline capturing this special time in their life.

I met Andrew and Yumi earlier this year. Their story is so sweet. She is from Japan, and he is a world traveler. They met at Union University in Jackson, TN. I attend the Germantown campus for my masters program. So we had an instant connection. As a photographer, a couple like these two are a dream. She is such a gorgeous girl... One of the most gorgeous girls I've ever photographed. I'm so inspired by Asian culture, so a Japanese bride had me absolutely beside myself. Then you add Andrew... or should I say... Chris Pine. These two are bound to have beautiful babies. Andrew's dad officiated the ceremony. It was such an emotional ceremony. Andrew's face when he saw his bride walking down the aisle to him was priceless. Then, at the reception, Yumi (who is an incredible pianist) did a piano duet with her mom and then did a duet with Andrew. Andrew played the guitar in their duet. The song they played was Taylor Swift's Love Story, hence my song choice for their video below.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZZY!!! I TOTALLY meant to deliver your pictures on your birthday! I love you, sweet girl! I hope your day is as sweet as you. Now to the good stuff...S o this wedding was a unique one for me. I knew the whole wedding party. My brother-in-law was the best man. I've known these kids since they were in high school and seen them all grow up practically. Lizzy was adamant that she wanted me to take pictures the whole day, but then at the reception she wanted me to let my second shooter take over so I could get my crunk on. And, boy, did I get my crunk on. You will not be seeing those pictures. Ryan (the groom), told me last July that he would be proposing in August. I was there for the proposal, and I also did their engagement pictures. Now they are all grown up and married. I cried a lot at their wedding. The Maddox Foundation house in Hernando, MS was an absolutely stunning setting in Desoto County for their beautiful day. Though it did start off a little hectic with the rain - which ended up significantly cooling things down outside once the rain stopped - the day ended perfectly.

If you are looking for a cuteness overload, look no further. This sweet couple was so relaxed from the beginning to the end of their session. Jennie ROCKED her beautiful green dress. We started around their downtown condo, and then changed and made our way down to Riverside, Mainstreet, and South of Beale. They are getting married this fall at the new Beale Street Landing, and couldn't be more thrilled that they chose us to capture their wedding day. I can't wait to see how this couple's Memphis Wedding goes down! It's going to be a blast for sure! Check out some of my favorite images from their engagement session below. Our mom's were best friends and though they did not plan for it, Kim and I were born on the same day in the same hospital... Rooms next to each other... Within an hour of each other.

I'm not sure I could find this waterfall again if I tried. It took us over an hour and a half of hiking to actually find the location. As I lay in bed today icing my neck because I apparently am incapable of safely crossing knee deep rapids while juggling thousands of dollars of equipment, I still can't believe my baby brother is getting engaged. This image is a story of growth for 3 city kids that came face-to-face with every fear they have ever had... Breaking bones, climbing mountains, clinging to rocks for dear life, encountering poisonous creatures (ok maybe I'm being dramatic)... only to find a perfect rainbow waiting on them at the end of their journey.
